SUMMERTIME IN NEW ORLEANS

summertime in new orleansI love living on the road, and I just can’t imagine having a different life right now, but sometimes it gets a little bit exhausting. There are times when I just want to stay in bed all day and not go anywhere, or spend a week in one place and actually unpack my suitcase. So you can imagine how excited I was to spend six weeks this summer at the lake house in Mandeville, a charming southern town thirty miles north of New Orleans. We finally had time to ourselves and could enjoy simple things, like kayaking at the lake, biking everywhere, visiting a farmers market, and driving to New Orleans across the world’s longest bridge.
New Orleans is a city always celebrating something (no wonder it’s one of the few places in America where it’s legal to drink alcohol on the streets), and it feels more like Europe than America. We wandered around the French Quarter for hours, listened to live jazz music on the streets, took a ferry across the Mississippi River, walked by many voodoo houses, and enjoyed every day we spent in this beautiful and crazy city.

    Hi Anna,

Another question to ask you.. how do you guys manage to travel all the time? US is especially expensive country for constant travels..
I have been living in this country for years and have seen extensively 40 states, but every trip always happened during the weekends or planned vacation. I wonder what are the ways to start travelling long term.

    Thanks in advance!
    Anya
